Designed with entertaining in mind, this backyard renovation transformed a standard San Diego yard into a modern outdoor retreat with sweeping canyon and sunset views. The clients wanted a space that could comfortably host friends and family while maintaining open areas for their young children to play.

An extended retaining wall created the framework for a series of connected gathering zones: a built-in BBQ and dining area with integrated bench seating, a fire pit lounge for evening conversations, and a raised view deck that captures the full beauty of the canyon beyond. Warm-toned concrete and natural stone details give the space a cohesive, elevated look — clean and modern, yet welcoming.
